About CSMC Silicon Foundries

Pioneering the open foundry business model in China since 1997, CSMC is a leading pure-play specialty analog foundry providing fabless design houses and integrated device manufacturers with a wide range of manufacturing services.  Our company manufactures integrated circuits (IC) and power discrete processes at production technology nodes ranging from 0.11 micron to 0.5 micron.  CSMC assists its customers with expertise in analog and mixed signal process technologies coupled with excellent delivery performance and responsive service.  CSMC ICs and power devices are utilized in a broad range of end market applications including consumer electronics, communications devices, personal computers, automotive and industrial products.

CSMC analog and power process technologies include mixed signal, BCDMOS, BiCMOS, planar and trench DMOS.  Core CMOS Logic processes remain available including EEPROM.  CSMC aids customers manage their product development flow and supply chain for semiconductor products.  We provide assistance to customers by arranging wafer level testing, packaging and final testing services including the ability to build a turnkey supply chain in China's Shanghai region.

CSMC Production Facilities

CSMC Technologies Fab 1 Co., Ltd. is the first and the largest open 6-inch wafer foundry in China as measured by production capacity. Fab 1 contains a clean room of 6,400 square meters and operates at   a production capacity of 60,000 6-inch wafers per month.

CSMC Technologies Fab 2 Co., Ltd. (¡°Fab 2¡±) has started initial production and is targeted for full phase 1 production capacities in early 2010.   Fab 2 contains a clean room space of 18,322 square meters and its target phase 1 capacity is 30,000 8-inch wafers per month by the first half of 2010 and a phase 2 capacities of 60,000 8-inch wafers per month by 2012 with the process technologies migrated to 0.11 micron.

On April 2008, CR Semiconductor Wafers & Chips Ltd. ("CSWC") joined CSMC's management and became CSMC Fab 5.  Fab 5 is using 0.5 micron capability for analog and digital circuit fabrication.  Fab 5 currently contains a clean room of 3,000 square meters with production capacity of 30,000 6-inch wafers per month and focus on new power electronics.
